Biography of Faith Odia Lawrence – Chairperson/ Director.
Faith Odia Lawrence is a woman whose life story is rooted in service, courage, and community. Born in the small town of Igueben in Edo State, Nigeria, she grew up with a strong sense of responsibility and compassion — values that have shaped her journey across continents.
After completing her early education in Igueben and earning a degree in Political Science from Ambrose Alli University, Faith built a successful career in microfinance and mortgage banking, working in both Nigeria and Sierra Leone. But her life took a new direction in 2020 when she moved to the United Kingdom and discovered her true calling in Health and Social Care.
Faith embraced this new path wholeheartedly, working hard to earning QCF Level 2, 3, and 5 qualifications and gaining hands‑on experience as a Health Care Support Worker. Her work opened her eyes to the challenges faced by underrepresented communities — especially migrants, ethnic minorities, and people navigating the care system for the first time.
Her passion for fairness and representation led to her appointment as a Board Member of the Agricultural Advisory Panel (AAP) for the Welsh Government, where she contributed to a groundbreaking initiative that gives Black, Asian, Ethnic Minority, and disabled individuals meaningful board experience.
Driven by her belief that everyone deserves to be seen, heard, and supported, Faith founded the Friendly Care Network. The organisation partners with local authorities and community stakeholders to provide culturally sensitive social support, advocacy, and care services. Under her leadership, the Network has become a trusted voice for inclusion and wellbeing in Wales.
Faith is known for her warmth, her integrity, and her unwavering commitment to uplifting others — qualities that continue to guide her mission today.
