Biography of Marian Bodunwa – Director / Secretary
I am Marian Bodunwa (née Adeboyejo), a humanitarian‑driven educationist, administrator, and Human Resources Management professional committed to advancing human dignity, social justice, and community wellbeing. My work across education, social care, healthcare, and human development is grounded in a deep belief that every individual deserves compassion, opportunity, and the support needed to thrive.
My academic journey began with an NCE in English Literature (Kwara State, Nigeria), followed by a BSc in English Language Education from Obafemi Awolowo University (OAU). I later completed an MSc in Educational Administration at the University of Lagos (UNILAG) and an MSc in Human Resources Management at the University of South Wales (USW), Cardiff. These qualifications strengthened my capacity to understand people, lead ethically, and contribute to systems that promote equity and empowerment.
I hold professional certifications from the Nigerian Institute of Management (NIM), the Chartered Institute of Personnel Development (CIPD UK), and Social Care Wales, where I completed Level 2 qualifications in adult and child care, with Levels 3 and 5 currently in progress. These certifications reflect my commitment to safeguarding, ethical practice, and high‑quality service delivery.
My humanitarian and social‑impact experience spans multiple sectors. In the United Kingdom, I have worked in healthcare services, including roles as a Support Worker at Iris Care Group and a Nurse Assistant at Cardiff and Vale University Health Board, where I support individuals with diverse needs, advocate for their rights, and promote holistic wellbeing. As a Child Practitioner with CoramPACEY, I contribute to children’s development, safety, and emotional resilience, ensuring that every child is treated with dignity and care.
I have also trained as a Phlebotomist with Lead Academy UK, expanding my ability to support individuals in clinical and community health settings. Earlier in my career, I developed creative and vocational skills through cookery and cake decoration training at YETKEM Catering Academy in Nigeria, which continues to enrich my community engagement and personal wellbeing.
Across all my roles, I am guided by a strong humanitarian ethos: to serve with empathy, to advocate for the vulnerable, and to contribute to systems that uplift individuals and strengthen communities. I am passionate about supporting people through education, care, and empowerment, and I remain committed to lifelong learning and meaningful social impact. My personal interests — cooking and singing — allow me to connect with others, build community, and bring joy into shared spaces.
